DENVER (AP) - The group that brought edgy ads to televisionand billboards in an effort to reduce meth abuse is bringing that same approach to a statewide effort to prevent teen prescription drug abuse.

The Colorado Meth Project announced the start of Rise Above Colorado on Wednesday. The new nonprofit group, funded partly by $1 million from the Colorado Attorney General's Office, seeks to work with educators, counselors, and through teen peer counseling, as well as sponsor public awareness campaigns. It's behind the "Mind Your Meds" ads which are now airing.

Attorney General John Suthers says the state money comes from the enforcement activities in his office's Consumer Protection Division.
